Gizmos and Gadgets Aplenty
Everyone knows that technology is a part of our lives and homes. So much a part of our homes, in fact, that with all the Wi-fi devices competing for bandwidth, everything gets bogged down. Think about how many wireless devices that may be running at the same time; laptops, iPads, iPods, printers, media server, connected Blu-ray player, Wii, PS3. The list is nearly endless these days. All of these are vying for a limited space (bandwidth) which causes the slow down or bottleneck that is so frustrating.
Take heart, there are ways to mitigate the problem:
- Place your wireless router in the center of the house for more equal access.
- You can use a wired connection for your devices that use a lot of media, like your Smart TV or any other device you stream video on.
- Use a powerline adapter if you don't have a network/internet connection near the device. A powerline adapter works with your house's existing electrical wiring for the network.
